“I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them..”
WHAT IS ENCOUNTER?
The Bible is full of stories of people whose lives were changed by their Encounter with Jesus. From those whose names we know, like the Apostles Peter or Paul, to the nameless ones like the woman at the well or the crippled man on the mat. One thing is certain, an Encounter with Jesus is life changing.
Encounter is a city-wide praise and worship event designed to bring people into the presence of Jesus.
Encounter is a 4 part event that starts with a social gathering. The social time helps bring those participating in Encounter into community with one and other. Unlike other praise and worship events that start with music, Encounter is intentional in building community among participants. After the social time, there is a period of dynamic praise and worship, followed by a teaching, and ending with Eucharistic Adoration.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
While this event focuses primarily on high school teens and young adults, all are welcome to attend.
WHEN IS THE NEXT ENCOUNTER?
Saturday April 1st, 2017
WHAT IS THE THEME OF THE NEXT ENCOUNTER?
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” -1Peter 2:24
When Jesus died on the cross He bore the weight of the world’s sin. When you stop and think about that, it makes absolutely no sense. God, became man, and took our punishment so that we may live. Jesus freed us from sin and death by the act of redemption on the cross and for this reason Christians are a people of JOY. This Encounter come discover the joy of being set free. Come Encounter Jesus.
